As was widely anticipated, Qantas has today announced a double status credits promotion for Frequent Flyer members.

Normally run twice per year, the promotion - dubbed ‘Twice as Rewarding" - allows you to pick from either double status credits or double points. To be eligible, flights must be booked by 11:59pm on the 27th February and your travel must be between the 28th February and 14th February 2025.

To book and earn the double status credits or points, you must first activate the promotion. This can be done via the Qantas app or through the website at Qantas.com. You should then receive email confirmation from Qantas confirming your choice for the promotion.

Then, you must then ensure that you include your Frequent Flyer number when booking your flights or accomodation.

If you later change your mind about earning double status credits or points, you can now switch multiple times via the Qantas app during the promotional period.

Eligible flights include Australian domestic and international Qantas marketed and operated flights, as well as flights operated by Finnair for Qantas including QF291, QF292, QF295 and QF296. Given this means flights must contain a Qantas code (QF) and be on a Qantas aircraft, Jetstar flights aren’t eligible for this promotion. This includes Jetstar fares that would normally earn you Qantas points or status credits.

The double status credits promotion is particularly popular, given that typically status credits are harder to earn than points as they can primarily only be earned by flying. Promotions that give away Qantas status credits are rare.

There is no limit on the number of flights you can book as part of this promotion, and your choice of status credits or points will be awarded within eight weeks of travel.

Additionally, if you’re flying for work in addition to earning double status credits or points you may also be eligible to earn double Qantas points for your business if your organisation has signed up to Qantas Business Rewards.

It’s worth noting that Qantas isn’t the only airline offering double points at the moment. If you’re a Virgin Velocity program member they too are offering double points when booking between now and the 25th February.
