Jetstar has today confirmed it’ll be launching a new direct route between Adelaide and the Whitsundays on the 1st September, 2024.

The flight will take 3 hours, and will depart both Adelaide (IATA Code: ADL) and the Whitsunday Coast Airport (IATA Code: PPP) on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.

To celebrate, you can purchase one-way tickets starting at $99 in a 12-hour sale from 11am on the 28th February.

“For the first time ever from 1 September 2024, flying between these two destinations will take just under three hours, continuing Jetstar’s mission to make travel more accessible with great low fares,” Jenn Armor, Jetstar’s Executive Manager of Customer said in a statement today.

From the 1st September until the 6th October, JQ842 will depart Adelaide at 3:00pm and arrive at 6:20pm, with the return flight JQ843 to leave the Whitsunday Coast Airport at 6:55pm and arrive back in Adelaide at 9:15pm.

Once daylight savings commences on the 6th October, JQ842 will depart Adelaide at the same time but arrive at 5:20pm instead while JQ843 will leave the Whitsundays an hour earlier but arrive in Adelaide at 9:15pm.

Prior to today’s announcement, there were no direct flights between Adelaide and the Whitsunday Coast Airport. Instead, you’d need to catch a connecting flight at Sydney or Brisbane with Virgin or Qantas.
