Jetstar has today announced a new direct route between Sydney and Margaret River (Busselton). The first flight will take place on the 26th March, 2024.

This marks the first time that Jetstar has flown between the two locations, with the airline the only commercial one to offer a direct flight on this route.

It also signals a continuing expansion of Jetstar’s regional offering after the airline recently launched a new direct route from Adelaide to the Whitsundays.

How frequently will the flights run?

Jetstar says that there’ll be three return flights per week between Sydney and Margaret River. The flights will depart on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays and operate as:

  • JQ898 - Sydney to Busselton

  • JQ899 - Busselton to Sydney

The flights depart Sydney at 11:10am, and arrive in Busselton at 1:10pm local time. The return flight departs Busselton at 1:55pm and arrives back in Sydney at 9:00pm local time.

Each flight will be serviced by an Airbus A320 aircraft.

Where is Busselton airport located?

Busselton Margaret River airport is located 6.5km from the centre of Busselton, a town situated on the Margaret River. It’s a small airport servicing commercial airlines and charter aircraft.

Dedicated ride share and taxi ranks are available at the airport to help you get into town, as well as short and long-term parking for locals. A cafe operates during select hours, and offers food, drinks and snacks.

Do any other airlines fly this route?

There are non-commercial flights that operate from time to time on this route, but Jetstar is currently the only commercial airline servicing the route.
