If you’re planning to take a DiDi ride share soon, Virgin Australia’s latest partnership might pique your interest.
Announced this week, DiDi customers who take part in Virgin Australia’s Velocity Frequent Flyer program will be eligible to earn points on every DiDi ride taken. The earn rate is 1 point per $1 eligible spend.
There are no restrictions placed on where you’re travelling from or to. The offer applies to all of DiDi’s 4 million customers, and the 12 million Velocity members.
Velocity points can be redeemed for Virgin Australia flights. They can also be used with partner airlines, holidays, household appliances and more.
If you link your DiDi and Velocity account before May 15, 2024 you’ll also receive a bonus 1000 points. You can link the two accounts via the DiDi app, with full promotional terms and conditions available here.
Virgin also revealed that there are now more than 12 million Velocity program members. This is up 34% in the past year, and statistically represents one person in every Australian household.
“Velocity is on an extraordinary growth trajectory with the pipeline of new partners fuller than anyone had expected”, Velocity Frequent Flyer CEO, Nick Rohrlach said.
“From a membership perspective, more than one million new members have joined in the last 12 months, 34 per cent higher than the previous year.”
